After years (literally, two decades) of having seen this film in theaters a couple of times and then going through periods where I hunt down clips of it (specifically, the musical numbers) I finally decided to purchase the movie. I should mention that I've never seen it performed on stage. In fact, I believe the only production I've seen of it, besides YouTubers posting short clips of some of the musical numbers, is this production. And, I love it. It's shiny and energetic and so full of pizzazz it's hard to stop it, including for bathroom breaks, until it's done.
Likely, I'll post more commentary, but then again, maybe not. We'll see.
